During the natural aging process, the skin in the face loses its elasticity, and muscles become lax. If the first signs of aging appear at a young age, they can be easily concealed with a mini-lift (MACS Lift). This procedure tightens sagging skin and repositions it to its original places. A very small incision under local anesthesia is sufficient to lift and reattach the skin in the mid-face region. The result is more alert and defined facial features. The small scar in front of the ear heals almost invisibly.

The skin on the neck also loses its firmness and elasticity with age. A neck lift can provide relief and counteract sagging, wrinkled skin, a double chin and fat deposits. If no more complex procedures or combinations with other treatments are necessary, the procedure is usually performed on an outpatient basis. Healing usually takes place without any problems and the scars also heal very inconspicuously.

Another side effect of ageing is the formation of forehead wrinkles; these can run horizontally or vertically as so-called frown lines. They are often accompanied by crow’s feet, sunken eyebrows or transverse wrinkles. These blemishes can be removed with a gentle and simple facelift in the temple and forehead area. During a forehead lift, a small incision is made in the eyebrow, which is lifted to impressively conceal wrinkles. To remove sagging skin in the temple area, a small incision is made in the scalp during the temple lift, which tightens the entire region and makes the eyes appear more awake.

The middle area of the face, which runs under the eyes up to the nasolabial fold, can also have blemishes; dark circles under the eyes and deep nasolabial folds are the most common changes that occur during the ageing process, but often also occur at a younger age. With a midfacelift, this area is tightened by making a small incision on the lower eyelid, which later becomes invisible as a scar. This allows the midfacial skin to be ideally tightened and shaped upwards, achieving a radiant facial expression.

The SMAS lift (Superficial Muscular Aponeurosis System) not only tightens the skin on the face. The underlying superficial muscular tendon plate system – i.e. the tissue structures and facial muscles under the skin – are also modelled during the 2-layer facelift. This method is suitable for the long-term and impressive concealment of even deep nasolabial or marionette lines.
