WHAT PATIENTS SAY ABOUT NOSE SURGERY WITH DR CHRISTIAN WOLF

Gabriele F.

I have been living in Mallorca for ½ a year and went to see Dr Wolf, a specialist in plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, based on a recommendation – he also has a very appealing practice in Mallorca / Palma.

Dr Wolf seemed to me to be extremely competent, personable and at the same time sensitive to my wishes. He gave me first-class advice in all matters, which is not the case with every plastic surgeon today. In the meantime, I have had several treatments carried out by Dr Wolf and I am absolutely satisfied. The aftercare was always first class, which is extremely important.

I can recommend Dr Wolf with a clear conscience, am already looking forward to my next appointment and would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr Wolf and his team for the always excellent results.

Why should only a specialist perform a nose job?

Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) should only be performed by experienced specialists in Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery because it requires a lot of knowledge and increased precision to deliver a harmonious and natural final result according to the patient’s wishes. Whether for aesthetic or functional reasons, the primary goal is always to maintain or possibly improve the nose’s function. Since it involves very fine incisions inside the nose, the specialist needs a steady hand. To avoid any risks and achieve an excellent result, it is essential to entrust yourself to the hands of an expert. Dr Christian Wolf would be pleased to advise you on the possibilities for a nose job at our practice in Mallorca.

What does a nose job cost in Mallorca?

The cost of a nose job can vary depending on the type and extent of the correction.

The options and costs of a nose surgery are discussed in detail during the consultation.

    How does nose surgery work?

Nose surgery usually involves functional or aesthetic problems with the shape or size of the nose, so the cartilage and bone in your nose are processed and ground down. The aim here is to give humped noses, broad noses and long or crooked noses a natural and harmonious shape that fits in with the rest of the face.

Closed rhinoplasty is usually used for a nose surgery. Here, small internal incisions are made in the mucous membranes so that no scars are visible afterwards. For more complex operations, Dr Wolf will use open rhinoplasty; this involves a small incision in the columella (skin bridge between nostrils) to allow for a better view of the surgical area. The open procedure is also usually used for nose tip corrections.

Small asymmetries of the nose can often be corrected without surgery. Injection therapy with hyaluronic acid, for example, can slightly correct an uneven or sunken nose.

FAQ – These are the questions our patients ask us about nose surgery in Mallorca

What are the most important steps before a nose job?

Before your nose job, we will of course have a comprehensive preliminary consultation
with you in which we will discuss your exact reasons (cosmetic / functional) and your expectations. Dr Christian Wolf will advise you individually and emphatically on various procedures and answer all your questions. In order to rule out allergies, we will of course ask you in detail about any previous illnesses. It is advisable to avoid blood-thinning medication and drugs such as alcohol and cigarettes before the procedure. Of course, we will ask you about your condition before your nose job so that you have nothing to worry about and can relax completely.

How does the healing process go after a nose job?

Since the nose is a very sensitive area, the healing process takes its time. You should completely rest for 2 to 3 weeks. During this time (about after a week), the stitches will be removed, and you should wear the individually made nasal plaster for stability reasons for another 2 weeks. Depending on the complexity of the procedure, you may still experience bruises or swelling after the plaster is removed, but these should subside quickly. It can take 6 to 12 months for the nose to fully heal and for you to see the final result. If you have any questions or concerns during this time, you are, of course, always welcome to contact Dr Wolf.

Will scars remain after the nose job?

We use minimally invasive rhinoplasty for nose surgery in Mallorca. With this method, there are usually no scars to be seen, especially as the incisions are made inside the nose during endonasal correction. In external rhinoplasty, an incision is made at the narrowest point of the nasal columella (skin bridge between nostrils). Here too, the scar usually heals very well so that it is almost invisible afterwards.

What should be considered after a nose job?

After a nose job, it’s important to take it easy, especially in the first few days. Rest and allow yourself bed rest if needed. Avoid strenuous and physically demanding activities at all costs. Hearty laughter or strong facial expressions can lead to pain. Also, washing (your hair) and blowing your nose should be avoided in the first days. Instead, gently dab your nose with a tissue and keep your mouth open when sneezing to equalize pressure.
To aid the healing process, it’s advisable to avoid the consumption of stimulants such as tobacco or alcohol for the first 6 weeks. Sport, as well as sunbathing and visits to the solarium or sauna, should also be avoided during this time.
